What we do:Paul was working with reclaimed timbers only until now 2016 where he works with both reclaimed and new & exotic timbers.
Both are sourced locally and with the environment in mind. The exotic wood is sourced where new trees are planted. Paul prepares all the reclaimed timbers to make them new. This can be a long and lengthy process alone then he creates in his workshop and lets his imagination flow. Paul has also done restoration work again shown on the home page. Our History |
Paul has been a Carpenter since leaving school, when he served his apprenticeship and gained his city & Guilds Carpentry / Joinery whilst working with B&S Windows in Failsworth, Manchester. He moved to North Wales in 2010 where he recovered from a traumatic illness. Paul was asked to make a dog kennel for a good friend. So pallets were collected for him and he had help from his family to prepare the timbers. He set to work in the back garden of his home constructing the kennel. This proved to be very difficult because of battling with the elements. There were many a day where he couldn't do anything but put down his tools. However he persevered and a grand kennel was made.
This then provoked the idea of a workshop where Paul could work at his own pace, therefore, he moved to a large unit in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. Now the business is located in Llandyrnog and has gone rural. The business is still growing more successful everyday. It is now named The Woodshack Wales as home is where the heart is and Paul's heart and passion is the wood and the skilled creating, the making. |
